How to be High Vibe AF

As some of you may already know, I have struggled A LOT with mental health, depression, and anxiety. They ruled my life for many years and kept me from fully living and being happy.  From the outside I may have looked put together and happy during that time but I wasn’t. Maybe you can relate.

I was chasing that feeling (you probably know the one) where you feel complete and whole on the inside, that feeling that money can’t buy. I knew it had to be attainable. I watched as the people who had found it glowed and their life — even in chaos — was beautiful to them.

After a lot — and I mean like years of falling in the mud and washing myself off — I found something that was able to keep my vibes and energy up.

Here are the steps to take to get there:

STEP 1: Read my blog post “WHY A MORNING RITUAL WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE.” It is the first step in this process and it is a HUGE piece of the puzzle. When you start your day with intention, you give it meaning and purpose. If you are struggling with depression you are more than likely feeling a lack of both (believe me, I GET IT!)

The next step is to get your energy moving and flowing. How do we do that you may ask? By exercising of course!

STEP 2: Get active. Before you get all crazy on me here, GIVE THIS A CHANCE. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. You need to do something you have never done to get something you have never gotten. Like everything, you will need to figure out what’s going to work for you.

maybe it’s yoga;

maybe it’s lifting weights;

maybe it’s running;

maybe it’s dancing;

maybe it’s jumping on a trampoline;

or maybe it’s a little of everything. Whatever you choose, play around and have fun.

Regardless of what exercise I’m doing, I ALWAYS get my body moving first thing in the morning. Don’t think that you need to go balls to walls and kill yourself for 60 minutes (or maybe you do). Find what is going to work for you and just get moving!

Moving your body in some way, shape, or form gets the energy and blood flowing. Think about it – blood is our life force and if our life force is moving slow, so are we. If we get it moving and flowing by exercising, it translates into our energy, and picks up our moods.

I don’t look at exercising as a way to change or alter my body physically (I have found that affects my psyche), but I do look at it as a thing I need to do to keep mentally healthy.
